What was
the record
that changed
your life?
A live storytelling and listening event. This fall, in Durham.
One night.
Five records.
Five stories.
Five presenters take the stage. Each gets ten minutes to tell the story of the record that changed their life, and play a track from it on a great soundsystem.
Five different records. Five different stories. One room, built for listening together.
Connections
through music.
Not a concert. Not a lecture. Not a record show. A room of people who love music and records, listening to a song that mattered to someone else, then hearing the story behind it. The night is built around five voices and the records that made them who they are.
The guy
behind
the night.
Hi, I’m Michael — a marketer, a Durham local (20 of the last 25 years), and a record lover since 1981 when I bought my first 45 at ten years old.
Four decades and a thousand records later, I’m still chasing the same thing: a great song and the story behind it. Hoping to make this a recurring Durham night where music lovers share both.
